ever since my wee boy was born he has always brought up and swallowed again small mouthful's of whatever he has recently eaten, recently i have noticed he is doing it much more often and for up to about 4/5 hours after each meal, it has started smelling really sour and horrible he has also developed a small cough which he does about every 20 seconds, i visited my doc last week and she prescribed gaviscon liquid for him and said that it should clear it up i don't think it is doing any good, does this sound like reflux? and if it does, what can i do for him that does not involve anything too stressful for him? he is also mildly autistic and can get very stressed and anxious.

A product was introduced in England last year called Ifacol Probiotic Drops for Children. See if they have it in your local Pharmacy. Very inexpensive. Worth trying. I remember reading about it from a health newsletter. Also give your son a little Aloe Vera. Good Luck.

Yes, my doctor told me that 90% of people with asthma has GERD and it sounds like he does.

It is basically Acid Reflux. It is like Gastro-Esophagus Reflux Disease or something to that effect. So when you see GERD and Acid Reflux it is the same thing, or they may be slightly different - one may be more technical of a term??
