Hey guys... I just feel so fat these days. There's really no point to my post, other than just to vent to people who can understand.. It's just.. It interferes with everything, and no matter what I eat, I always worry that it's going to be too much... but the number on the scale is definitely NOT going up... I don't care if the number stays the same or even if it does go up do to muscle mass, I just want to be THINNER. Anyways.. What do you do to make yourself not feel so fat? (Other than exercise/restrict calories, obviously! In a healthy way, I mean)

First, don't weigh during recovery. I just had to stop it because the minute the number went up, my bad behaviors increased.

I've been recovered for years and I still have body image issues, but I always did, even when I was so thin I felt like crap all the time and was having health problems. I never felt thin enough, so I had to realize that my perception was skewed and I would never feel thin enough no matter how thin I got. I try to focus on the positives--my hair, my smile, my eyes looking in the mirror and not on the negatives.

Lots of books I've read on recovery do focus on one thought: Fat is not a feeling. You have to work at what is beyond that. It can be difficult, I know, but it is also worth it. Recovery is wonderful. It is wonderful to have a life again.
