I have just been recently diagnosed with Gerd & I'm on Nexium 40 mg a day. I'm also being very careful what eat. Tonight I'm coughing & clearing my throat constantly & can taste the acid. :confused: I thought the Nexium stopped the acid- but it certainly doesn't feel like it!

I JUST STARTED TAKING NEXIUM YESTERDAY too and i feel congested, i was kinda wondering the same thing. is it from the med or just a coinincidence?

I clear my throat a lil too but i try to forget about it cause it can become a habit which i dont wish to have.

As for your symptoms acting up at night, I personally take a nexium in the morning and a Zantac 45 mins before dinner which keeps everything bearable. According to my doc its fine, so you might want to consult yours
