yet another gift of the BCs. Don't freak, since the first time I used BC, i had hair growing in the most unlikely places where you'd expect to find hair in a women's body...I was, to say the very least, shocked!
Just do what you do with the rest of the unwanted hair. You can shave it, or wax it or go for laser..

not neccessarily.. it might become thinner and scarcier'..
Some people have more hair than the rest, depending on the treatment you will get the same results as dealing with other areas say, legs, or underarms... It's on you way between the underams and legs anyway ;)

Have it lasered off. It shouldn't be too expensive. You'll need several sessions, though.

How much hair is it? Most people have a little fuzz.

I've always had some hairs on my tummy right below my belly button. I pluck them when they start to grow in. They never have come back thicker they will just always keep coming back. For me it's hereditary my sister is the same way. I also get hairs on my breasts and I pluck those too. I would say about 10 hairs in each spot and they are normal coarse hairs. Plucking works good to keep them away longer. Or like the other poster said having them lasered off or electrolosis to permanently remove them. Oh and if other girls don't have them maybe they remove them. No one would ever know I have them since I pluck twice a week about to get rid of them.

do you have hair anywhere else it shouldnt be? is your period normal? I ask because I have PCOS. This causes hair growth in places it shouldn't be. I get a hairy chin, breasts, and below my belly button. Not saying this is what you have, just that there could be an explanation for your extra hair.

It is simply not abnormal for some women to have some hairs on parts of our bodies that we'd rather there not be any. If it's a lot then there could be a hormonal issue. But to think that you are abnormal because you have hair on your stomach is not true. This is jokingly called the treasure trail...haha! Your friends are just lucky that they don't have any or they really do have it and are too embarrassed to fess up to it and act like they have none HA! Usually as women get older these hairs start popping up but I've had odd hairs in places I'd rather not for as long as I can remember...probably since I was 16 yrs. old. Depending on how course they are...you can just shave them...if they are black and course you may be better off waxing or tweezing. I can remember a friend of mine back in junior high(that was developed way beyond her years) had some hair on her breasts and she was freaking but when she told her nurse mother she was like...well just pull them out. No biggy.

Yep, it's entirely normal, why wouldn't it be? People have been known to have hair in places you wouldn't "normally" think and there's not a thing bad about it except they may not like it.
For instance, some women have noticeable hair going around their nipples. I had a friend in gym class in high school who had this and she felt no shame, worry, or need to change it.

Feel lucky you don't have to shave your back...lol. Someone I know's wife has so much hair he shaves her back for her. It just runs in her family for the women to be quite hairy. So don't worry about a few hairs below your belly button it's totally normal.

Ha.
It'd be abnormal if you just didn't grow hair on a certain place.
There is hair all over the body, even if it's so fine and thin that it's hardly noticeable.

Don't feel bad, I've got a slightly hairy tummy too. I just wax most of it and tweeze the darker, coarse hairs. It has slowed down some since I got off BC, and it never got any thicker after I started waxing.

Yes it is totally normal. And no it probably has nothing to do with BC and everything to do with heredity. You get your hair and eye color and everything else from your parents and their parents and so on.
As one poster said it is called the treasure trail, however I do not know one single woman who wants a man that need a strip of hair as a guide to find what he is looking for.:D
I started getting mine at about 13 ( started my periods at 10, lucky me) and of course I freaked out. But I figured that if my legs and other places;) were getting hairy it only made sense to me that it be there. I did go to my mother "after" I cut myself there and she told me to pluck it out. Forward about 5 years and I started getting that spot waxed and within 5 years I did not have to do it anymore. Now that I am in perimenopause I have noticed that there are a few hairs there but I just pluck them.:D

Sure is! All of my GF's have it (the fair girls have fine blonde ones, and my dark haired bestie and I, we WHINGE about ours often!)
If they are course, tweeze or wax them. If they are very fine, and you have olive skin/brown hairs, faux tan! It hides most of them for me!;)
