View Full Version : "Rebound" from dropping from 2 to 1 PPI?

I've heard of "rebound" from stopping Nexium altogether, but I've not heard of it for reducing from 2 to 1 pill a day, etc. Anyone ever hear of this?

While before my recent doc visits I was feeling more genuine "heartburn", I felt very good for a week or more when reducing from 2 to 1 Nexium a day, after the GE told me to try to reduce (especially because I need to try to get pregnant soon and need to wean off it). Now this week I've had almost consistent actual heartburn (burning from stomach to throat, in chest).

Is it possible I'm "rebounding" after feeling good for a week on just 1 Nexium/day?

That certainly sounds possible. Did you call the doctor and ask? Maybe you could try 2 nexium one day, then 1 the next and alternate like this for a week or two then do 2 nexium, then two days with 1, etc...
