would my immune system be considered to be compromised?

I have genital herpes, that when I am not taking medication for it, seems to always be on flare up. I'm working to get it to go dormant.

This week my medication isn't working very well (still getting lesions while on the medicine) and bc I am considering Hep. C as something I may test + for, perhaps this is an explanation as to why my herpes is a continual problem for me ??

I prev. dated a man who I recall might have said he tested + for Hep. when he was in the service. This was 20+ yrs. ago, back when I was young & ignorant of disease. I vaguely remember him saying something. He didn't give it as a warning to me. I remember he said "he was fine," so I took that to mean he was fine. We never did drugs together. I very well may have used a razor of his, or toothbrush, tho.

Now I'm freaking as I'm having real trouble with this herpes as well as a "feeling" on my upper rt. abd. side. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure if you are considered to have a compromised immune system if you have hepC. I'm almost positive that they didn't have a test for hepc 20 years ago so the person you were dating probably had hepB or hepA.

It's easy to get tested and even if you test positive it's not a death sentence. I've known that I've had it for at least 13 years and I could have possibly gotten it in the army 20+ years ago.
