Hi friends, I am new here and thank goodness I have found somewhere to voice my fears. I have had a lot of pain in or around my left lung. Sometimes a sharp pain just up under my left rib. Anyway, so local doc and had xrays. Results are a lesion on the Pleura on the base of L. lung. This is not inside the lung. CT scan ordered for Mon. and results back in docs office this coming Wed. Doc is saying it's a possibility of scarring from previous infection (which I haven't had) or damage to a nerve from coughing (which I did have until a friend washed my curtains and got rid of all the smoke from them. My cough disappeared almost overnight.) I have had breast cancer and the breast removed, but radiologist says no signs of metastases. Good!! Right from the start of this pain I knew something was not right. You know that feeling of intuition we get? So here I am at nearly 3am in the morning posting this and feeling a little bit out of touch with reality. Strange feeling. I'm saying I'm not concerned but I think I am. I cannot find any evidence of this type of cancer on the net and my doc did say it was reasonably rare. Has anyone had anything the same as I have described here and what was your outcome. I know my doc is trying to encourage me to stay positive and I'm trying to. But the fact that he has told me that if my xrays came back normal he was going to do a CT scan anyway leaves me a bit wary. He also said the fact that I have pain with this is not a good indication. Gee I hope someone out there can identify with me and give me some guidance. Hey, don't worry about scaring me. I'm an old girl and have been thru many things in life and can handle whatever anyone says. No problem. Ok? I look forward to hearing from someone who may be able to shed some light on my condition. Let's face it, us guys know our bodies more than the docs sometimes. Isn't that right.
Cheers for now
