Don't know if you remember me. I have posted here a few months ago. Had sensoneural hearing loss from a sinus infection and all of the symptoms.
Nausa, headfog, disequilibrium, no dizziness.
Anyways, here is the question. This has started 8 months ago. After 5 months I have started to get a little bit better. In the past 2 months I got a lot better.
Far from 100% (still can't drive) but I have managed to go shopping, walk in crowded places, work full weeks and so on.
Here is the question, I seem to get better and then a little set back. Then again, a little better and a set back. So overall I get better but with constant setbacks that seem to prolong the healing process.
Has anyone been experiencing the same thing? Why is that?
Thanks
Anaty

Anaty, don't know why this happens, I get it too, I'm 18months down the line and suffering a horrid setback at the moment, each setback seems to be a bit better than the last one. . . . or am I just getting used to having them.?????

Yep..feel the same way. Had 3 months got bits better...than the last 2 months my improvement is much better. It is like 3 steps forward...2 back..sometimes 4 back...
After going back though...I seem to jump up to a new level!

Hi,
It's totally normal for this stuff - if you have vestibular neuritis then the set backs can even be part of the recovery process. Your brain is furiously trying to recalibrate in an attempt to learn the new info you are presenting it/your ear with. Which is why you can sometimes feel like you have jumped to a new level of well after another horrible patch of bad symptoms.
best,

what symptoms are you still dealing with?

I still get periods of head pressure and buzzing.
Still feel strange in crowded places although to a much lesser degree. My ear is not fully open (I feel).
Also some nausea although, again, not all the time.
Oddly enough, the hotter it is the worse I feel. I live in Israel so it's quite hot.
How are you doing?
Anty.

I'm the same as you Anaty, but the warmer the weather the better I usually feel, damp weather hates my head!
Send some of that heat over here to the UK will you, we have Easter hols next week so it would be nice to get the bbq out.

Anaty...I am about 1/2 month behind you and I am really where you are at! Were you dianosed with vestibular neuritis? I have what I can only call head dizzy/buzzy/woozy. It is when the world doesn't spin...but my head feels heavy off...My ears clear then come back full (not as bad as at the start)..I think it is the mixed signals.
Some days I have my normal moments. Have you had any normal moments yet?

Hi,
I was never fully diagnosed. The assumption was a viral labyrinthitis. I have had some normal hours. Funny you should ask,
Just this Thursday evening and Friday morning I was shopping. When I came home I have realized that I actually felt normal. Just the fact that I wasn't thinking about it all the time is a huge improvement. I took my time, strolled in the shop. I felt great. Usually I go in and get out as soon as I can, you know, like a chore. I am sure I will have set backs as I always do but I am pleased.
I should start driving though. I absolutely dread it.
Jane, if I could, I would have sent you bucket of heat and bright sun…. This time of the year, the heat does not stay for so long. It will change though. Thank God for Air-condition.
I have not been to England but am addicted to British TV. When I see the gray sky, the rain and the views. I always wish I was there…

Our weather is very wet, although July and August can be dry and warm, I'd rather have that weather all year round, but then I suppose our gardens and countryside wouldn't bee so green. . . .never happy with what we have are we??
Glad to hear you had a good trip out, here's to many more.
