Is is sore getting the camera down your nose and into your throat? Ive had the endoscope down and that was the worst thing i have ever had! Ive got the lump feeling in my throat again, its been gone for a while now but its back and its driving me crazy so im going to the ENTS office to get checked out, im hoping that its just the globus thingy (cant spell it) and its all in my head. Im hoping they are just not gonna say oh you have acid reflux next patient!

I've had an endoscopy done. I can tell you that I worked myself up into a panic reading about it on the internet before I went to the ENT. My main fear is needles, I absolutely hate needles. I actually import topical anesthetic from Canada and anesthetize my arms before I have to have something done. With the enterologist, they don't actually put a line in your arm, it's more like a port. I don't really remember too much about the actual procedure. I remember being wheeled in, and I remember the doctor putting the medicine in my arm, and I remember gagging only slightly as the camera was placed down my throat. It was over very quickly.

(Manometry nose tube) As for the tube up the nose, that is slightly more uncomfortable. I had several panic attacks just thinking about that procedure. In reality, it wasn't THAT bad. The doctor gave me a cup of water and told me to start drinking it on her command. She placed a thin tube up my nose and started passing it down my throat. I swallowed the water and it wasn't all that bad. It's a very strange feeling have a tube up your nose and down your throat. That test was much longer than the endoscopy, and my nose and throat were sore for a few hours after the test. All in all it's not very bad.

(nose scope) On the other hand, the exam that my ENT doctor gave me before I had my nose surgery was HELL. He used a small tube camera to peer up my nose to get some visuals. One of my nostrils is VERY restricted and it hurt like a mo-flappy. I'm glad he sprayed anesthetic up my nose before he did it, but man, that hurt.

do you also get that gaggingfeeling when they shove the tube down the nose to the throat? I just really hate that.. but I am at my wits end with the head pressure I get! My throat feels so constricted and thick... I dont have trouble swallowing but the feeling is just bad ... there are times I feel like I am suffocating! With LPR is it really best to see an ENT DOC? is there any meds to remove the pressure in the head?
