Hi there, have not been on for quite awhile, much less posted anything. Just wanted to say to Kim, so sorry for Stans pain, we live in Oregon and it has already been suggested to us that when things progress that we contact our MD for medical marijuana. That is an option for us.
My husband has been thru 5 rounds of chemo so far. After the 4th round they did another CT scan and found that the tumors have shrunk once again. One of the 2 in his lung is gone, the other just shows a remenent and the one in his liver has shrunk apox. 50% more, making about a 75% reduction. I should be adding the jumping for joy little icon I am seeing on this page but all this has not been without it's bad things too. The last round of chemo was delayed because his blood count (both white and red) was so low. This past time he has not bounced back as previously. He just has no energy, his appetite is low but he does eat, really strange things he seldom ate before! So, we wait for the 6th and final round of chemo they will allow him and then see. Our weather here has been so bad that he can't get out much when he does feel like it. Today we have some sun, so went to the market.
Just wanted to catch up on things. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. God bless.

Hi
So nice hearing from you and yes I agree you would think you would be jumping up and down but with the roller coaster ride it puts you on I think we just wear out and become numb. I am so thrilled to hear though that your husband is actually getting some reduction/shrinkage! What type of chemo is your husband currently on? Yes, can understand the lack of energy, but we will say a prayer and as soon as he finishes the chemo it will probably take him about 3 weeks and he should be feeling much better. You had me laughing about your husband eating things he never ate before as Stan is the same way! I remember when he first started chemo he asked for a chili dog. I told him I will have to go to the store and get the stuff to make it and he says no just go buy it and I had to seriously think where do I buy a chili dog! We never really ate them before he had chemo! My youngest thought it was so cool that dad wanted a chili dog! The endless list goes on as I am sure it does with you. I think sometimes in the evening Stan will see a commercial and it must get his taste buds going. Infact, it was on his first chemo and I was constantly on runs for food even though he ate little of it, but craved it. I felt like he was pregnant so we did laugh about it.
Our doctor said the medical marijuana was for lack of appetite and nausea but not for pain...hhhmmmm. Infact, odd you should mention that because in the newspaper yesterday they had a big article about it and I am about 1/2 way thru reading it. (the controversy of it is what the article is about)
I do hope your weather improves. We have actually had very nice weather, but Stan just has not been able to get out. It is his birthday on Wednesday and he is currently having chemo right now so we celebrate at home.
I need to run to take care of things while Stan is at chemo. I do pray your husband will start enjoying life more and be able to get out more.
Your posting was just the sunshine I needed in my day today! Thanks!
Kim
