Has anyone tried a chemical (TCA or glycolic acid) peel? If so what were your results? How good was the peel?

I wanted a chemical peel but my dermatologist suggested that I get Fraxel instead because I was so fair and I scar easily. I have one of those famous birth control pill masks on the right side of my face that I want gone.
Fraxel removes wrinkles, brownspots, and retextures sundamaged skin. It can be done on the hands as well to removed sun and ages spots.

arsalan, I use glycolic peels with fairly good results. A good [and affordable!] one to start off with may be Alpha-Hydroxy - you can find this line in most CVS and Long's Drug stores. They offer 14% glycolic acid to start off with. The only thing I don't like about them is that they come with cloth masks you're supposed to lay on your face for the allotted period of time. The cloth masks are difficult to distribute evenly over your skin, the eyes and mouth holes are in the wrong place and I wind up looking like Jason, or whoever that Halloween bad guy is:eek:
Instead, I squeeze the liquid out of all these cloth masks into another container, then pat it all over my face. Be sure to do a spot test and only leave it on for 5 minutes [or whatever the instructions on the box indicate] the first time you use it. You have to work up to leaving it on for longer periods of time.
