Hi,
I have been diagnosed with GERD for about 15 years now. I have been on prilosec for a long time. I take 1 or 2 a day. I have been scoped twice. Each time I guess things were ok. I believe a couple of the path things from last time came back with a little something.
The problem is I have "GERD attacks" about twice a month. It happens usually in the middle of the night or in the morning and comes on suddenly. I am never doing the same thing nor have I eaten or drank the same think. It starts with pain in my stomach. Than, I have what I call hypersaliva. The saliva is thick and builds up quickly in my mouth. It is pretty nasty and I cannot swallow it. This goes on for hours until I finally get sick. I am going through an episode now. I just got violently sick. It was just a bunch of thick nasty yellow stuff (sorry don't mean to be gross). My stomach still hurts. It will settle down slowly now but I won't feel completely over it for 24-36 hours.
It is miserable and ruins my whole day. I can't eat. If I try to eat, I get sick although I don't feel particularly nauseous.
Are these GERD symptoms. I was diagnosed a long time ago while I was in the Navy.
Thanks a lot.

definitely sounds like it... you should have your self checked again to see if there are any complications since its been with you for a long time... GERD as I have learned is really a long term sickness.. ones you have it even you get rid of it for the time being its just always lurking somwhere near u... waiting for u to let ur guard down, by this I mean eating the bad things.. yeah I know its really awful
