I was wondering if acesulfame potassium is bad on the Atkin's diet? Like, can I still drink it with my water. I pour the powder packets into my drinks and I drink it that way. I've only been on this diet for 3 days, but I don't want to ruin it from the start, I want to know all of the facts and everything before I really get into it. So, acesulfame potassium is like Splenda, would I be able to drink like 3 glasses of this stuff in water? I mean, it's just little packets like those Crystal Light on the go stuff, but it's a different brand and has 0 carbs, 0 calories, and 0 sodium. I mean like I said, I'm on the Atkins diet and it has 0 carbs....so please help!!!

hi and welcome to the healthboards,
I think it would be fine, if your not to sure of yourself, look into the Atkins new revised book it should say in that, I use to have the book but I can't find it.
but in my opinion as long as it is carb free I would think its ok Atkins is fine with splenda and some other carb free sweetners.

Chevyman,

Just be careful, drinking or eating a lot of foods with artifical sweetners in them can cause you to crave sweets. Usta:wave:

Mrs. Hart,

Where are you able to buy acesulfame? I'd like to try it becasue I like it in PepsiONE and Coke FREE.
Is it in packets like Splenda and Nutrasweet.

I though it was only "for the trade."

Lenin, you can go to Wal-Mart and go into the powder-packets aisle, they should have it. They're in boxes with little packets inside! I hope you find it!
