My esophagus was damaged when I had thyroiditis so I need liquid b/p medications which aren't available. I crush or dilute my meds in water. I've tried just about everything in my kitchen to make the meds taste better. Rasberry jam is the best I've come up with. Any suggestions for flavorings will be appreciated. Pharmacies say that their flavoring might not be compatible with my meds. They won't sell the flavorings. Thank you for any help. Fam

Any ideas for flavoring b/p drugs. I have to dilute mine with water or crush them. Labetalol is the worst & the antibiotic that I'm taking for a absess tooth @ the moment. Thanks. Fam

I would try contacting a compounding pharmacy. They can create or mix a drug for you. They should be abbe to even make a liquid form of any med. They are a special type of pharmacy, not your local drug store. If you have trouble finding one, try contacting a pet clinic, they usually know of one because animals need meds mixed sometimes to make them more palatable(sp?)

Thanks, Liver. I do have a compound pharmacy in my town. They can't get the drug I need to make up a liquid med. I do need to ask them if I could buy some flavorings. I asked other pharmacies but they weren't allowed to sell me flavorings. It seems some flavorings interact with the meds & then the med doesn't work. They do make up my HCTZ in capsule form which I just dump in food-no bad taste cause it only has cornstarch for a base. It must be the additives that cause the bad taste in most cases. Fam
