I really would love to hear from someone else who is suffering from reflux despite taking a ppi that has cut out the acid. I was on ppis for 5 years than 4 months ago they just stopped working. Went to the doc, had tons of tests and said the acid is not reaching my esophagus but the muscles are not clearing out other types of reflux (food, etc??). I tried all kinds of medicine with little success (reglan, librax, etc). He has now said he doesnt know what other therapy to try and has refered me to another GI that specializes in motility problems. I cant get in to see him until the 16th and I feel so helpless. I've never had a doctor tell me he is out of ideas. I'm only 23 and I feel so depressed over the last 4 months. I watch what I eat, take DGL, papaya enzymes, acupunture herbs, etc. and nothing seems to make the chest pain/discomfort and indigestion go away. Seems like most people on this board deal with acid reflux but does anyone have non-acid relfux?

curious as to how that would help? Seems to me I would just be refluxing vinagar into my esophagus then?

Ihave exactly the same thing... I have been taking PPI for 3 months.. no reflux but there I still regurgitate.... went to ask my GI about it and said probably the sphincter relaxing.. cause I am alsotaking paracetamol which tend to relax muscles for my gastric and head pain... so he changed my PPI into esomeprazole... "he said" the difference is that esomeprazole is it doesnt just reduce acid but also "tightens the muscles of the esophagus" while omeprazole only reduces acid... well i have just taken the med for a daY I feel quite fine today but Ill still have to see if its the cause... :)

Hi Scott..you may have low acid??? Low acid has the same symptoms almost as too much acid, you might want to check that out. The apple cider vinegar would help with low acid, also digestive enzymes will help with most all digestive issues...anyway if you try the apple cider vinegar try the Braggs Organic...I am trying everything these days, I just want to be better!
You will know if the ACV doesn't work pretty rapidly..
Anyway, best of luck to you!
