I wondered if someone could tell me the name of a good BP tester to use at home that is "user friendly." Thanks in advance.

The best of the lot are the OMRON testers (near $100 usually?)...this is from user posting. These are usually priced higher than the others.
I am on my second LUMISCOPE and recommend them (on sale natch) completely if someone is watching his pennies. I paid about $30 for each of mine. DO watch for sales at major drug stores like CVS, Rite Aid, and Duane Reade.

Just make sure you can return any unit you buy if you find it clumsy to use.

Go with self-inflating digital...they are far easier to use than pump-up models.

Hi Patty,

I tested just about every b/p monitor that I could borrow, or buy when I had to stop using my mercury wall monitor because of damage to my hands from
Cozaar. My omron-711ac has been working for 3 1/2 yrs with very heavy use because of my severe hypertension. I like that it works with battery or by plugging it in. This way I can use it in the car. I bought two extra ones on sale for traveling & for my downstairs. Follow the directions carefully for an accurate b/p. Remember to check your monitor with your Dr's cuff about every 6 months. Fam

Hi,
I have used the wrist Lumiscope for 4 years. It is excellent. The calibrations are almost right on with my doctor's at his office. He said mine works just fine.
