Hello to anyone who reads this
This is my first post on this board, but I am hoping you can all help me out :)
I stopped working 3 months ago and have noticed the weight slowly creeping up on me.
I am about 168cm and currently weigh 72kg.
While I was working I was able to keep my weight at about 68kg BUT would rather weigh around 60kg.
I have bought myself one of those exercise balls, that come with workout dvd's, and I workout Monday to Friday for about 1 hour per day.
Nothing seems to be happening
I used to only eat once a day in the evenings, but now I try to eat more often.
I usually have an apple or some eggs for breakfast and then eat apples or sultanas during the day and then my evening meal.
I have cut out the most fattening foods ie: cheese, chips and biscuits.
The problem is that nothing seems to be happening, if anything I am slowly putting on weight
Last week I weighed 71.5kg and today I'm up to 72kg!!
With all the exercise I've done I would have thought I'd shed at least .5kg. Instead I put it on!!
Should I be doing different exercise?
If so, what would be better for me to trim down?

are you doing any cardio?? you need to do cardio (or at least walking - something that involves moving around) to really burn calories and eventually fat. sounds also like you may not be eating enough if all you eat is apples all day, body may be in starvation mode with a lowered metabolism.

Try eating a proper lunch it may aid with losing weight. Sounds like your not getting enough to eat during the day

Thanks for the replies :)
I thought I was doing the right thing by eating the apples during the day but I guess they don't count as food
Would a sandwich be enough?
With the exercise ball I do work up a bit of a sweat, but most of the exercise is to do with the Core, like sit ups and quite a few arm and shoulder things with weights.
I have a stepper, which I struggle to use, after about 5 minutes my upper leg muscles ache/burn horribly!
If I persisted with the stepper, does that count as cardio?

A sandwich with lean meat and veg would work yes. Try some grainy bread too :)
