So, I think in my infinite wisdom I have managed to pull my calf muscle while trying to get some range of motion/control over my ankle....
I've been stretching my ankle for a couple days...trying to gain back some control over my foot ... and have been slowly attempting to straighten my leg to the floor and put very gentle pressure on my heal (as told to do by my doc)...well I woke up yesterday and today with a VERY SORE calf...tender to touch and slight sore to move....
Anyone else ever experience this during recovery???

Hi
If you have recently had surgery, check this quickly with your Doc, deep vein thrombosis is a possibilty after surgery, though of course it may be just a pulled muscle as you say, but don't "wait and see", get it checked out.
Let us know how you get on, Mandy.

Thank you for the post...I left a message with my surgeon's nurse today and should hear back within 24 hours....I didn't even think of that, thanks for the heads-up.....though I am a little more anxious about the pain now than I was before :) (better safe than sorry)

Hi Katie
I didn't intend to scare you, I'm sorry, but you are right in saying better safe than sorry, as it could be a possibility. The danger is of course if it is a clot and it moves from the leg, that becomes an emergency very quickly. I'm probably scaring you again now but I would not be happy to wait 24 hrs. Go to emergency if you can't see your Doc. Take care, Mandy.
