View Full Version : Hiding a Nose Piercing

Right now I have a very small diamond stud on my nose. I'm just keeping it while I'm young and taking it out at the end of college. My jobs are fine with it and everything, but I'm currently volunteering with children and took it out on my first day just so they don't ask about it and ask what it is (which has happened in the past!).

I have tried different kinds of nose studs, but the screw kinds were very uncomfortable for me and I could feel it inside my nose, the L shaped one would always rotate and be sticking out of my nose and showing, so I use a straight stud that has a knob at the end that keeps it from falling out. It's very comfortable and I can't even feel it, but taking it out is very painful. It makes my eyes tear up very badly to remove it and put it back in, and it bleeds every time! I would really rather not do this.. then I end up with dried up blood there instead.

Any ideas about a good way that I can just cover it up? I have tried putting makeup on it but it didn't work too well and I don't want to get it infected or anything.

Maybe go to a local piercing shop and see what they recommend. I don't know what else to do.. It seems you've tried everything so far.

Have you tried a clear retainer?

I think I'll go back to a piercing salon and try to figure it out.. I haven't tried the clear retainers. The problem with those is that I would still have to remove the stud I have in now.

I'll probably just go buy the old kind of ring I had so I'm able to remove and put it back in with no problem. This one was just VERY painful to remove b/c of that knob at the end that keeps it from falling out. I just wish I could find a shorter L shaped kind so it doesn't bother me!!

A little tiny piece of band-aid? Or just explain to the kids what it is? Where do you live that children don't know what a nostril piercing is, by the way? Hehe...kidding. They're just extremely common here. :)

Haha I will try out the bandaid idea.. that's a good idea and I think it will actually work.

Hehe yeah I figured kids would have seen nose piercings before, and it's not like a big ring or anything.. I am a "girly girl" and I think it's cute and nothing too big. I teach piano lessons and one boy (about age 4 at the time) kept asking me to take off the "sparkle" on my nose. It was pretty funny!
