More of a vent probably than anything - but also wondering if I am the only one - EVERY time I get an outbreak, which is only around 2 times a year because of Valtrex, I get sciatica as well. I don't know which is the trigger event, the outbreak of the inflammation of the sciatic nerve, but in any case it is doubly frustrating and painful and I am dealing with it today...it's just awful!!! Not to mention my OB's usually go from one to two sores (as one clears up another breaks out) and so I ma dreading that as well...GRRRRR...anyway that's my lament for the day, any takers?:blob_fire

sure,
think about it, the hsv2 virus sits at the base of the spine in the sacral to lumbar section
so of course it can cause that flare up thats where its been proven to sleep or remain dormant in research studies.
so it is most likely the cause of your siatica , it makes sense in my opinion. some poeple get outbreak on the base of there spine only the butt area thats where the blisters form
they say thats a very common thing and alot of people get told its sweat rashes or pimples because of your waist band on your clothing so it slips by many doctors.
but more so than not think about it, thats where the virus groups and stays they also say in research that the hsv1 sits behind your neck in your cervical spine area
i have never had an outbreak to my knowledge, but im sure i have had sweat band pimples or buttock pimples so it's making me re-evaluate my whole "when did i first notice a symptom phase"
hope it helped:confused:

Hi..where is ur pain exactly ?
I got a genital OB last few days and now I am having severe lower back pain. i have never had back pain before ever..and now i am very nervous....
could this back pain be because of the OB ? it is very frustrating because i know that my docs will not have a definite answer for me on this.
also, my sores all cleared up and i got the back pain the next day ......
