View Full Version : Clomid/Serophene - missed period, what to do?

Hi there,

I am new to this board and since there are so many knowledgable people here who have used this, I want to ask this question.

I'm in my second cycle of clomid/serophene. The first month, I got a period on Day 31. The second cycle, I am now on day 36 and still no period. Is this normal? Does the cycle dates change each time?

I don't feel pregnant. I have the usual period symptoms (pimples, tender breasts) but no bleeding. Am scheduled to see the doctor on Saturday (3 days from now).

I am not sure if I ovulated in the first cycle or the second cycle. The doctor doesn't tell me anything. I am wondering if I should take my third set of clomid pills now, even with no bleeding?

Please help. Thanks.

Hi Babe,

I wouldn't take the pills if AF hasn't shown up. They are supposed to be taken on days 3-7 or 5-9 of a new cycle, and if AF hasn't shown yet, you are still on the 'old' cycle. I would wait for AF. Have you taken an HPT?

I have noticed my cycles getting longer as I go through IF. I used to be 28 to 30 days every month. My last two cycles were both over 32 days. I believe the meds affect it.

Good luck!! If you are still concerned, you might want to check with your dr. But I don't think the new cycle starts until AF starts...

Hi Babe and welcome u have come to the right place. If ur Re put u on clomid he should be monitoring u before starting each cycle.First he has to make sure u dont have any cysts. If u do have cysts taking clomid is pointless.I suggest u take a HPT to confirm if u are pregnant or not, you shouldent just go by signs. Also early pregnancy signs are a lot like AF signs. Please let us know how it works out for u.

Thanks for the responses.

After reading some of the messages in these boards, I feel that I am not getting the best patient treatment with my dr. I've had 2 blood tests done on Day 22 but the doctor has not called me to tell me any results so I don't know what is going on. I don't think I'm being monitored as much as I want to be either. I should talk to my dr about my concerns.

I'll wait until seeing my dr before starting my next cycle of pills.

Good luck to you sweetie. I hope you get better care from your dr after discussing your concerns with him/her. If not, don't be afraid to get a second opinion. Please keep us posted.
