View Full Version : Do you want a laugh, more on my hsg saga

Okay get ready for this ladies, it will make you laugh with disbelief as I did today. As some of you know I was booked in for my hsg today, and had some problems with the appointment (see previous post). Well I mentally prepared myself, took the painkillers before hand, was waiting in the room and a nurse took me aside and said "i am sorry but you can't have your procedure done today, THE EQUIPMENT IS BROKEN ***?

I don't think I am meant to have had this hsg done this month, my ob/gyn who had agreed to do it came around and I think he was annoyed as well, I was so frustrated that here he was ready to go, I was ready and the damm machine was broken. So all I could do was be understanding to the poor nurse and my dr said he will do the hsg for me next month. He touched my shoulder and said " please feel free to get pregnant before then" we all had a laugh ho ho ho (sorry sarcasm there) and I said, well it will be a boxing day baby so I will do my best.

I feel like I have just been banging my head against a wall, now another month to have the hsg, then another month for clomid then iui god knows when. Any way it has happened this way, so I just have to accept it. But can you believe it??

Good luck to you all and I hope +++++++++++ are all coming your way.

Hey Mariella

Just posted on the TTC board re your HSg. I am so sorry about this. . . aren t such setbacks so annoying. i am going through one myself right now.Doesn t it make you think that this might have happenend for a reason .I mean you struggled so much to have you hsg done and now this.
I admire the fact that you seem to be dealing with this quite well even though i am sure you are disappointed. However you never know. . . you might actually conceive on your own this month.
Don t give up . . . and remember you are not alone.

Thank you Amy, yes it is just so frustrating especially since my ob/gyn who is so busy made time to come over and do the procedure and he couldn't do it! Do you mind if I ask what is happening with you right now? Best wishes to you.

Amy I was also diagnosed with underactive thyroid, and am on meds to keep the level normal. Had a blood test to check it last month and it is in the normal range, the dr thought that may have been a reason for my not falling pg and for my two miscarriages, but obviously it is not.

Best wishes to you, do you have to wait until your levels are normal before ttc?

Hi Mariella,
I did actually laugh at the story not because it was funny but because I have been a victim of such. One thing I will tell you though is not to stress yourself out because your exam was cancelled, I remember the first time I got pregnant, Dr told us to relax that it will happen blah blah blah, I had an MRI scheduled, on the morning of the exam, I got a call that the person who will do it is out of town so I shouldn't bother coming in. I was so devastated and annoyed, well there was nothing I could do. That was the only month which I never bothered to TTC because I was waiting for the MRI which they re-scheduled for another 3wks. I went in and Dr said when last did you see your period, I told him it was supposed to come tommorow and that I am already feeling the AF signs, he said they will do a preg test before the MRI just to be on the safe side. Well I gave them my pee and 10mins later, the Dr came out and said sorry we can't do the MRI today. WHATTTTTTTT!!! I shouted and the man shouted back at me "BECAUSE U ARE PREGNANT" I looked at DH who looked back at me. So that was it am not trying to be long but just to tell you that sometimes, these things happen for a reason. Relax and forget the HSG, this month might be your month you never can tell. Take it easy girl.

Hi Mariella

Don t know if you remember we had both posted in a thread i had started on the TTC board TSH and TTC.
I have to wait until my thyroid levels are normal before TTC again. I am currently on 50mcg but might need to up my dose if my levels would have not yet been stabilised by the 24 th April.
What is the normal value for TSH there? What is your value at the moment and what s your dose?
I too had a m/c last August which was probably due to the thyroid problem . My endo also thinks thats why i couldn t conceive after then, will just have to wait and see.
AT the moment don t know whether i should get DH tested in the mean time. I really don t want to wait only to get another setback.I am 27 and just never thought its gonna be so complicated getting prego. I ve got some problems with my blood too i kind of sticky blood prob. . . so the younger i get prego the less the complications.
How are you doing? I know its annoying having to wait believe me. Just hang on.

I absolutely hate the whole appointment process!

You call, you say "I need an appointment" w/fear in your voice.

And they're like "We have one for you- Next Tuesday, 2010!"

I swear, there needs to be a better system for this! Why can't we go to the ER when we really need an HSG? Or transfer, or whatever else is going on w/us!? Isn't it an emergency? Yes, it is!!

I think we'd all be pregnant a lot sooner if the industry took IF more seriously-starting with the insurance companies!!

That's my rant for today!
:D
