TryN2BMommy 03-29-2007, 09:47 AM Well ladies, nothing too exciting to post, but a couple of you have asked, so I thought I would let you all know how my appt went last night...
We did the mock transfer, which was only slightly painful for a few seconds, and then it was over, just like that! He said it looked like I was going to be difficult, but it ended up going just fine. He even said my bladder was more full than it needed to be, and I wasn't uncomfortably full at all, so that was good to know!
We then did the infectious disease testing and the medical work up required by the FDA for the shared egg donor program. I also have an order for some bloodwork, which I will have done tomorrow morning. It looks like they are ordering an awful lot of tests, and I'm wondering how many vials they will need.
My next appt is Wednesday at 1:00, the day we leave town, and we will do the psychometric test and, I think, IVF education class. After that, I will need to set up an appt with the psychologist and have one more round of bloodwork. Then I think we will have jumped through all the hoops and will be able to start stimming early May!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!! :blob_fire :blob_fire
It looks like I will be in the 2ww for my birthday with beta probably the third week of May or so...
Thanks for asking ladies, it is so great to know you are all cheering me on!!!!!!!
Holly

Amy 333 03-29-2007, 10:14 AM Hi Holly
It sounds quite stressful . . . but i am sure it will be worth it at the end of it all. Did you get to meet the other couple yet?
Think positive and don t give up. You are not alone.
Take care

JAM82 03-29-2007, 10:42 AM [QUOTE=hollyncurren;2889553]Well ladies, nothing too exciting to post, but a couple of you have asked, so I thought I would let you all know how my appt went last night...

I wish you every sucess in your journey and trust you will keep us all updated all along the way,im sure your wait will fly by! do you get to meet the couple your helping?
where are you off to on holiday?
X
lahc1 03-29-2007, 11:20 AM Holly,
I'm so excited for you! :blob_fire I haven't been good on keeping up with the boards the last few days and I think I missed some posts. So you were picked then? Yay! I knew this was going to work out for you. I am so happy :D
I had my IVF consult yesterday too and if this IUI doesn't work looks like I will be on BCPs in April then start stimming early May to for my IVF cycle. We might be cycle buddies :) Good luck with everything and keep us posted.
Lori
TryN2BMommy 03-29-2007, 11:23 AM  Like I said, it is so nice to know you all are cheering me on! It really makes all this so much easier to deal with! So thank you again!
Mapia~Surprisingly, I don't feel all that overwhelmed right now. I am just so excited to be moving forward! I bet I will feel overwhelmed after the education class. I remeber how scared I was after the IUI class, and this will be much more involved!! But, my dr mentioned last night that the recipient couple is all ready to go - the woman is already preparing her uterus! :) So I just want to plow right through and get my eggs ready for us both. I can't imagine how she must be feeling sitting around waiting for me to be ready. It must be so hard for her to be patient. I want to do this more than ever now. :blob_fire :blob_fire
Amy~Thank you so much for the encouragement. I know with you girls and my BF, I will never be alone. :) I am so glad to be a part of this community! I actually won't be meeting the other couple. It is a requirement of the program to be completely anonymous. I won't even know if they get pg or not. It is probably for the best. At least all parties involved know that we are giving each other a chance we would not have had without each other. For that, I am truly happy!
Jam~You are SO right. It feels so good to have one appt under my belt and to know the other couple is preparing as well! I am just so excited, I can't believe it is all happening! Next week we will be going on our very first cruise! :blob_fire :D :blob_fire We'll be leaving out of Miami, Fl, stopping in Key West, and going on to Calica, Mexico. I CAN'T WAIT!! It really is perfect timing too, because it will get me nice and relaxed for the upcoming cycle and I won't need to worry about taking any meds with me or anything like I would if we were in the middle of the cycle.
I really feel like everything is finally falling into place, for the first time since this whole journey has started. Please please pray for success for this upcoming cycle. Thank you all so much!
Holly
TryN2BMommy 03-29-2007, 11:30 AM Lori, how awesome if we could be cycle buddies!! Of course, I would much rather see you get your BFP this cycle!!! If that doesn't happen though, we will have each other to lean on.
My dr never officially told me the couple picked me, but I cannot see going through the motions and ordering all the testing (plus paying all the money--I had to cough up a check for $280 last night and that's just the begining) if it wasn't going to happen. Like I said, he told me the other couple already went through all the motions and the woman is already preparing her uterus, so I would say we are good to go!!! :D
When is your beta?
Holly
lahc1 03-29-2007, 11:35 AM My beta is on 4/9. It was 2 1/2 weeks this time instead of 2 weeks because of Easter weekend. So the wait is a little longer :dizzy: But lately Af has been showing up early so if she doesn't rear her ugly head by 4/9 I will be super excited.
Lori
TryN2BMommy 03-29-2007, 11:48 AM 2 1/2 weeks, Yuck! 2 weeks is hard enough. Well, I will be praying for you like always!!!!! :)
Mapia74 03-29-2007, 12:15 PM Holly I truely feel this will be it for u.Like I have said time and time again what u are doing is a great thing.I have u in my prayers and thoughts all the time.I pray everything goes smoothly for u.

I know you both are very near to your Betas so just thought of wishing you lots of luck and baby dust. Hoping and praying that you both too get BFPs.
Lori is going on 4/9 but how about you Mapia, is it 4/6 ?
Praying hard for you both.
Love Golds
lahc1 04-02-2007, 03:53 PM Hi Golds, Thanks so much for checking in on me and sending some prayers my way. One more week to go! I started a new job last week so I have been keeping busy which is good. I just hope this week flies by. The last week is always the tough one :dizzy:

Holly
Kari15 04-02-2007, 11:35 PM Holly - So glad that all is moving forward for you and your first IVF!!! I didn't realize they did a mock transfer so soon in the process! I'm glad that it went smoothly and even better than the doc initially expected... that could be a VERY GOOD sign!:blob_fire :blob_fire :blob_fire
Lori and Mapia - I am also testing on the 9th so maybe we will get triple good news! But I seriously am not optimistic since I did no stims this month and after six straight BFN's while taking stims I imagine there's not much hope for me this cycle. But I do have my first IVF consult that day which will def help me get thru another BFN. I will be praying for both of you guys that your BFP's are just days away!
Mapia74 04-03-2007, 09:45 AM Yeah triple the good news.Hey Kari u never know dont throw the towel in already girl I know u are tougher then that.It aint over till Miss America sings.........:D
Mapia
Golds 04-03-2007, 12:15 PM WOW...thats so cool..we've heard 2 BFPs of Aimee & CMarie in one day so I guess its time for 3 BFPs in a day !!
Good luck Mapia, Kari & Lori - 4/9 will be a day of celebrations :blob_fire
Yes Mapia, I am going for FET and its scheduled on 4/23 so there is still time.
Sending sticky baby dust and positive wibes !
Golds
Hi Holly! That all sounds so exciting! I haven't posted much but you all are still in my thoughts. I think that you sound so brave to be going through all of this and I feel like you will get your BFP at the end of May!! Good luck!
Anna Leigh
TryN2BMommy 04-03-2007, 02:55 PM Thanks Anna Leigh!! I'm excited and hoping it will all work out. How is everything with you? Hopefully great!
TryN2BMommy 04-03-2007, 03:36 PM Mapia, Lori, and Kari,
It's gonna kill me not knowing how your betas go on 4/9, but I've decided to stay away from the boards while I'm on vacation. I will really miss all my girls. I feel so close to so many of you, but I think I need a break from all this IF stuff, and this is the perfect opportunity to take one before embarking on IVF.
I will definitely have you in my thoughts and prayers for 3 Big Fat Positives!!
I'll be checking in tomorrow and saying a final farewell, but I just made this decision and thought I would send my well wishes now before I get too caught up in all the preparations...
Bundles of Baby Dust headed your way....
Holly
lahc1 04-03-2007, 04:10 PM Hi Holly,
I completely understand you staying away for the week. A total vacation is a great break. I did that in January and it was a bit hard to stay away but it did help to keep IF off the mind as much as possible. I hope you and DH have an amazing time and come back revived and hopeful to start the IVF process.
No definate news yet but I think I will be joining you in the IVF cycle in May. I started very very faint spotting today. I know it could mean anything but it's 11 dpiu so I don't think it's good news. I will let you all know when I know for sure though. Sorry, didn't mean to make this post a downer for you - just thought I'd let you know since you won't be on later.
I really hope you have an amazing trip and I look forward to having my IVF buddy when you get back!
Lori
rubynz 04-03-2007, 08:12 PM Hi Holly
I think that is a very good idea. Once you embark on IVF your mind is no doubt going to be in a whirl and you will become very focused. Enjoy your vacation and don't give us a second thought, time out for yourself is important too!
Take care sweetie!!!
Ruby
Golds 04-03-2007, 08:25 PM Hi Holly Bye Holly :)
Have a wonderful vacation - I guess you need one before you are restricted for next 9 months. :D
Golds
TryN2BMommy 04-03-2007, 11:25 PM Oh Lori, I really hope it's not AF starting. As much as I would like to have you as an IVF buddy, I would much rather see you get your BFP sooner rather than later! I'll be thinking of you.
Ruby, I agree. Time away from all this is really important. It has consumed me for so long, I am determined to put it out of my mind while I'm gone. Even though I will miss you all, I know I need the break. I'm sure it will be good for me. And vacation will be that much sweeter. :)
Golds, ahh that was so cute. Boy do I hope you're right. ;)
Still hoping to come back to read about many many BFPS!!!
Kari15 04-03-2007, 11:59 PM Hey Holly - I don't think I will be online tomorrow before you take off so just wanted to wish you safe travels!!!! Even though we're gonna miss you while you're gone, don't worry about taking time away from the IF stuff... I bet it will be good for you. And our beta results will be posted for you to read about when you return!
TryN2BMommy 04-04-2007, 04:04 PM Thanks Kari!
deluka96 04-04-2007, 04:11 PM Hi Holly,
