View Full Version : Recovering from Overtrained Triceps

About 3 weeks ago, I think my triceps started to become overtrained, so I took about 2 weeks off to rest them and create a new workout schedule/split. I knew that once I started lifting again that I would need some time to get back into things and back on track. However, it's been like 2 weeks back lifting and I can't lift nearly the same amount of weight at all. All tricep exercises are down like 10lbs and bench press is down around 20lbs. Does anyone know what I should do or have any thoughts? I'm becoming really frustrated. Thanks.

You're fine. After taking time off, you should NOT try to lift the same weight you did 2 weeks prior, especially taking 2 weeks of totally from training.

Ease in lightly, and it will only take a few workouts to get back. Remember, lifting that previous weight is what caused you to injure your triceps. Why would you want to repeat the mistake?
