I was just browsing photographs of myself from roughly 2 years ago...
And was disgusted.
Backstory:
I'm 5'4 and currently 20 years old, and weigh 156 pounds, Body fat % 30.9%
I have been struggling with my weight forever.
My heaviest was 168 when I was 16, and my lowest was 130 when I was 18.
I have been a member of Curves since I was 16. During my first year of university (fall 2004-2005 spring) I joined the gym here in my univ. town and lost a ton of weight - from 155 to 130 !!!! It was amazing...
During that summer I went home and gained 10 pounds...
Upon entering Univ Year 2 (fall 2005-spring 2006) I immediately rejoined Curves, as I was at 144 or so. A week later I ended up in the hospital with appendicitis.
After a long recovery and a severe infection later, I was unable to exercise.
I plateaued around 147 and while I attended Curves in Spring 2006, the weight wouldn't budge.
Financial circumstances and a new job prevented me in the summer from exercising...since then, I became very sedentary.
I finally gained enough money to rejoin Curves - was weighed and the weight made me cry - 156. I had worked SO hard to get that weight down...and I'm so made at myself for, when I was 130, I was still unhappy with myself. Still thinking I was fat.
Like I said, I was just looking through photos of myself from that 1st year I lost so much weight, and distinctly remember seeing those photos at that time and going "Ugh, so fat" and today I look and I'm just in shock I thought I was fat.
I really want to get back down to 130. I'm still at 156...and I've been at Curves for a few weeks now. I'm trying SO hard to cut down on the crap food. I don't drink soda at all, but do indulge in chocolate or chips at least once a week.
I am still in school and it's been a very difficult year with personal problems and academic difficulties. I think a lot of that stress is preventing me from losing/aiding me in gaining.
I work at a small pet store usually evenings, which means I sometimes don't eat supper until 10 pm or 11 pm...really bad, I know. I'm sure that's helping me gain and sustain as well! :(
Additionally, I eat when I'm bored. Yesterday, I scoured the cupboards and ended up eating 2 hot dog buns with margarine and 1/4 tin of salted cashews. Yuck!
And then I went to the store and bought a Mr. Munchy chocolate rabbit, which I've already devoured - the whole 175 grams!!! :( :(
I just feel so disgusting...and so mad that when I was a healthy weight, I was still unsatisfied...
I'm almost debating getting a weight loss pill...just because I'm so desperate to lose this excess weight...:(
Any helpful pointers?

Although you gave us a LOT of information, you didn't give us a lot of relevant info in order to comment on. Like - what does your diet consist of? How often do you GO to curves? It's hard to gauge how much effort is really being put into weightloss without that info.
I do feel for you! I feel like I do everything I can, and my weight doesn't budge. And I know it's at a difficult and frustrating time of your life.
Best of luck! Give us some specifics and maybe someone will have an idea that will help.

I go to Curves 3 - 4 x per week, and also walk uphill to class and back (10 mins each way) 5 days per week...
My diet is usually:
Breakfast:
Bowl of cereal (Cheerios, Harvest Crunch, etc) or
Cinnamon Toast (2 slices whole wheat toast with margarine and cinnamon/sugar mix)
Lunch:
A bagel with cream cheese, or cinnamon or
A few slices of meat (ham), slice of cheese
Maybe a piece of fruit
Dinner:
Usually varies between...
A pork chop with rice
A pork chop with pasta
Chicken with rice
" " with pasta
Beans
Sausage with potatoes
Not much variety...
I tend to snack on Rice cakes, nuts, ice cream, more cinnamon toast, etc...
Drinking wise:
Apple Juice throughout the day (maybe 2 cups)
Skim Milk (1 cup at dinner)
Water when I go to Curves (1 - 2 cups)

My first thoughts are:
You have very little fiber in your diet. No green vegetables - just starches - and very little fruit. I would definitely try to add that in.
Secondly, that's a lot of carbs for my liking - pasta, rice, or potatoes every night? Substitue something a little more diet friendly there - a green salad, some broccoli, a fresh fruit salad. Mix it up a bit!
Lastly, you do need more water than that. Apple juice isn't really a big help. Sure it's better for you than soda, but in general they have quite a bit of sugar added as well. WATER WATER WATER! You will be amazed at what water and fiber alone will do for your diet if you up it!
Also - remember not to let your caloric intake get too low, or it will be self-defeating. You need to eat to lose - as crazy as that sounds!
Good luck!

Yes, apple juice is not really the best choice, even though it is better than soda. I just took a nutrition course which explained it very well, so I'm going to try and relay the message: Say you have a whole apple which is 70 cal...and then a glass of apple juice which is 70 cal. It may take you only say 30 seconds to 1 mintue to drink the juice, but 10 minutes to eat the apple. The longer it takes you to eat something, the more satisfied you feel. On top of that the whole apple has dietary fibre in it and the apple juice has it removed, so the whole apple will make you feel more full. So if you drink the apple juice, but are still hungry you have had 70 cal and then you may eat more on top of that. But if you eat the whole apple you may stop at 70 cal. I hope that wasn't a jumbled mess.
Also, I just posted this tip on another thread, but a good way to incorporate more fibre into your diet it to eat All Bran. Now I can't eat All Bran by itself, but I create a mixture of All Bran and the new Special K Chocolately Delight. Usually 1/3 Special K and 2/3 All Bran. The Special K and chocolate does a great job of masking the bland taste of All Bran.
