View Full Version : IVF Consult

Well I had my IVF consult and it went surprisingly well. I'm still hoping this last IUI will work and I won't have to do IVF but if I do, I'm not so scared anymore. Because of my age & response to IUI meds I will not have to do nearly as much as I thought. No lupron!! Yay!!!:blob_fire I've heard some horror stories about that and I was so nervous so I'm happy I get to skip it.

Also no POI shots, because my progesterone been so good they said I'm okay with the suppositories if I want to so I probably will. They are yucky but not painful at least. So I'll just be doing: BCPs, Folistium, trigger shot, & progesterone suppositories. That's doesn't seem nearly as overwhelming as I thought. The plan is to be on BCPs in April and then start stimming early May for an ER and ET in May as well. I can't believe I'm at this point but I'm also excited to try something new.

So that's the update on me. Baby dust to everyone!

Congrats Lori!!!! That sounds like a great plan!!!! I totally hope that this IUI works and you won't have to do the IVF, but if not you have a great plan to look forward to! IVF really is not that scary, I was so worried but it really is not too bad in the end! You definitely need to keep us posted on how things progress!!!

Hi Lori

I was surprised to see that I wasn't as scared and overwhelmed as I thought I would be as well. :) It's a nice surprise, isn't it?

Really praying for you that you won't have to take that next step, but if you do, we can take it together. My dr also didn't mention lupron. I wonder if it will be in the protocol or not. Guess I will find out next week.

Keep us posted on this cycle.

Lori-
I'm so excited for you! Hopefully you won't need to go through it but if you do, it's really not bad! That's great! It sounds like our ivfs will be very similar. I didn't do any lupron, used the progesterone suppositories, and i actually only used the follistim and menopur for eight nights. It wasn't too bad. I can't wait for you to start. It really is very exciting when going through it.
