Hi. I've been on a fairly strick diet, for a year and a half now. I still have around another year to go, though, because I was massive been this thing started. Anyway, my birthday is in less than a week, and I'm seriously thinking of treating myself to a Dairy Queen Blizzard that day. I, of course loved these things before my diet. I'm scared if I eat it, though, It'll drive me off track. I've avoided all the cravings before, but I'm still scared.

Can anyone give me any advice? Thanks.

Its your birthday! forget about your diet. I think you should have enough self control to have a day to slip up and then go back to your diet. Life is too short not to celebrate your birthday

I agree with the PP. Treat yourself! You're not going to blow all your hard work over a milkshake. And I doubt one milkshake is going to suddenly make you go back to eating the way you did pre weight loss.

However, don't be surprised that after a year and a half of not eating things like that, it doesn't taste good.

Happy early birthday! I don't know what your tastes are like, but if I were you I'd avoid a candybar or chocolate type Blizzard and try maybe a fruit flavored one. I get easily addicted to chocolate, and if I have it one day I crave it the next day.
