Over the last couple years, I have developed an allergy to the adhesive on bandaids. I have tried multiple brands and found one I could tolerate--until yesterday. I had the bandaid on for several hours and 24 hours later I still have an angry red rash where it was placed.
Has anyone out there had this problem? If so, did you find a solution that worked for you?

Use a gause pad with the paper tape. It usually works OK for me. I find that the worst places are on my torso where the skin is less "tough". Arms and legs fare better but still can have issues if left on too long. One thing you can do is rotate the bandaid so that it doresn't stay in same place more than a few hours.

I have similar problems. I recently had to get a skin contact.. week long 60 some odd skin contact allergy test done. What do you know, I was allergic to a common preservatice and emulsifier and many other things. I had to buy all new make-up and skin and hair care products. I would look into getting a skin test done as well.. it itches like crazy but finding out what to avoid can make a large difference. I had the skin testing done through my dermatologist who i was seeing for my contact dermatitus, exzyema, and roscea(sp).
Best of luck finding a solution.. my emulsifier is used in all the adhesives to promote even dispersion of the sticky compound. Guaze is now my wound friend... or super glue in a pinch.
