Looking at buying one of these. At $900, the price is not too bad and in my range. Wondering if anyone has used or currently uses one and can provide any feedback, positive or negative. Thanks

I don't have one, but I just looked at a picture of it online. It looks pretty flimsy to me. I'm very cynical when it comes to these home fitness machines. They're usually made cheaply by companies out for a fast buck.

I think (and a lot of others on here would probably agree) that you'd be FAR better off investing in some free weights with a barbell rack/bench or a gym membership.

Even with a big barbell rack and a bench you could do squats, chins, deadlifts and bench press and lots of other growth-oriented free weight moves.

These "home gym" machines have a restricted range of motion that makes them much less effective than free weights. I wouldn't waste your hard-earned dough on that.

One more thing....Gold's is a reputable Gym chain that knows damn well that good old fashioned iron is way better than some flimsy machine.

My guess is someone paid them lots of money to put their name on this product. It seems like these days, every soul a price. Shame on Golds.

Is it similar to the BowFlex? If so, I have a BowFlex and its ok for muscle maintenance, but I don't plan on doing a lot of bulking with it. I guess the limited range of motion that Eric talks about is true and I know I can't do all the moves I'm used to on it, but the moves I can do, I definitely feel. The weights are plenty heavy enough (of course, I'm a weakling and a woman ;-D). I think my Dh has a little trouble getting enough weight for lower body exercises (that he's not interested in doing anyway).

You probably would be better with an actual bench.

Consumerguide has some reviews on lot of those homegyms including the one mentioned here.

Personally, my ideal home gym (after further research) would be one of the freeweight systems by Parabody, I would include a exercise ball, hip squatting belt by Ironind, hooked wrist straps, and a dipping belt. Also, e-z curl bar, adjustable dumbells, and barbells w/ weights. U would get more exercises out of this and would cost about as much(depends on the parabody setup u get). HTH
