I'm running out of ideas for healthy snacks. They say we should be eating six small meals a day. I like to eat 3 small main meals and snacks between means. Is this ok? I have hpyoglcemia (low blood sugar) and I have to keep my sugars elevated trhoughout the day. I'm starting to run out of healthy snacks that I can eat between maens. Can anyone help?

What about yogurt and a piece of fruit? Cottage cheese and fruit? Popcorn? Apple & peanutbutter? What do you usually eat for a snack?

You want your snacks to be just as "balanced" as your three meals...just in smaller amounts.
I love tuna salad anytime. So for snacktime, I have some on a couple of low salt whole grain crackers, with a half an apple or orange.
I also like sardines. I know a lot of people don't. But if you do...they too make a great snacktime treat (the same as above).
Another thing I make up in bulk; and freeze is little meatballs made from ground turkey. Use lots of herbs in them, and less salt. For a snack, just microwave a few and have with some raw vegies or fruit.
How about some jello with cottage cheese and chopped fruit mixed into it?
A hand full of unsalted almonds and half a pear is good and satisfying.
Or have a low fat mozzerella cheese stick with the pear.
Hardboiled eggs are always filling.
Or instead of tuna salad, do egg salad with crackers and fruit.
Banana and peanut butter with crackers?
Just think of any foods that you enjoy; and you can always come up with new healthy in-between meal snacks.

Thanks everyone for you're wonderful ideas! I was getting bored of the same old "cheese and crackers" deal. You've just inspired me!
