I just had my egg retrieval three days ago and I was pretty badly bloated the first few days, this morning I woke up and felt a lot better, but as the day has gone on I have gotten pretty bloated again. I also had diarrhea a few hours ago. I really don't have much pain other than the bloating. Doesn't ohss usually come with a lot of pain in the ovary area? Does anyone know?
My hubby is calling me nervous nancy:rolleyes:

carisa - when i had OHSS i had MAJOR pain in the ovary area. I also had major bloating - i had to go buy elastic waist pants to wear for a week or 2 before i could fit into my jeans again. they were also worried about me not urinating enough - make sure you are urinating regularly. also if you have absolutely NO pain at all - my RE told me that if i went from having a lot of pain to zero pain i might have a twisted ovary - just to let you know. just be careful when you are working around the house and twisting your body. they told me that i couldn't do any activity except for walking. it was hard for me to do anything at all, with all the pain and bloating i had.
it's easy to worry - if you are really worried, i'd give your office a quick call.
=) Best of luck!

Hi Carisa,
I am still extremely bloated and my belly is very distended since before my retrieval (it actually got worse after the retrieval). You have to remember that your ovaries were totally pumped up and then stuck with needles so you will definitely be uncomfortable. My RE said that discomfort is normal, but downright pain is not. I was weighing myself like they told me and I never had more than 2 pounds weight can from day to day. They said it is bad if you gain close to 5 pounds from day to day. Also, they said to monitor your urine. You should be outputting as much as you are taking in. Also it should not be a dark color. It doesn't really sound like you are hyperstimulated, but I understand your worries;) i hope this info helps ease your mind, but let me know how it goes!

I agree, I don't think I am hyperstimulated. I really have no pain except for the major bloating. The bloating hurts, but that is because I feel like I need to get rid of all the extra air, I need to pop myself!:dizzy: I have been peeing, and it is pretty clear because of all the gatorade and water I have been drinking. I just get worried soo easily! It's a personality flaw of mine!!

Worrying is totally natural, I am a HUGE WORRY WART!!!! Especially when going through something so big as IVF. I am glad that you are not in pain, just discomfort!
I am just so excited that your transfer is tomorrow!!!! Finally those little bubbies will be back home where they belong:blob_fire I wish you the best of luck and hope that your cycle ends with a BFP too!!!! I will keep you in my prayers. How many days post transfer will your beta be? I had to wait 12.

HI Carisa!
It sounds like you definitely have hyper stimulated ovaries (which can be a good thing for IVF cycles!), but not full blown syndrome. I'm so excited your transfer is tomorrow! Best of luck to you, I will keep you in my prayers! :)
Love and baby dust!

Well, this morning I woke up and I can feel some pain in my right ovary. Nothing too crazy, but it feels like my ovaries did about a day or two before the retrieval. I'm trying not to worry about it though. I'm hoping my transfer isn't painful because of it. Pray for me guys, I really need it. :dizzy:
Cmarie-My first beta is April 10th, which is not this Tues, but next Tuesday! It's also the day before my 29th bday!

Hi Carisa!
I am sure everything will go great with your transfer. My both of my ovaries were actually bigger than my uterus the day of my transfer and it was absolutely painless so you should be fine!
How exciting that your b/t is the day before your b-day. I had my retrieval the day before my 29th b-day so maybe this was meant to be both of our cycles:angel:
After you are off of bedrest please post to let me know how it went!! I will cross my fingers for you and your little bubbies!!!

Thanks, I will post on Monday afternoon, which is when I will get back home from our night in the city. Thank you for telling me that both of your ovaries were larger than your uterus and you still didn't feel anything. That makes me feel like I may be safe! My mock transfer didn't hurt at all, so hopefully this will be exactly the same. My doctor did my mock transfer, but the weekend on call dr. will be doing my transfer. I thought that was kind of strange. When she did the mock she wrote down info on it in my file, so hopefully that will be all the weekend doc will need. Alright, talk to you soon!
