Well I went to the dermatologist for the 4th time today. And they said I have hives. For three months I was on different antibiotics and steroids and then decided to have me treat for scabies. We finally did it and of course it didnt work. Today the new word of the day was hives, an allergic reaction, but they dont know to what. My husband broke out with a rash around the same time but his is totally different. Mine is little red itchy bumps and his looks almost like cigarette burns. They said his looks like eczema. My 5 yr old had one patch on her back and they said hers was a fungal infection. So all 3 of us has something different??? We are thinking maybe something in the house??? If anyone can help please,we'll try anything.

I feel your pain! I had chronic hives for over a year with no explaination, no clue as to what caused them. I had deep hives in the palms of my hands and on my arms and legs. Now, I only get them on my hands once about every 3 months. I know how frustrating hives are. The fact is, they don't know much about hives and it is so difficult for them to find out what causes them for you. There are so many reasons that you might get them. Nothing helped me but ice. When you put ice on the hives the hive contracts and doesn't let off any more histimine. This will stop the itching, then it just burns & is a little painful for a while and leaves a whelp, then disappears. Hives can be caused by food alergies, heat, pressure, latex alergies, medicine alergies, etc... the list is endless. I hope that you find out what causes yours because by removing what is causing them is the best way to cure it. Wish I knew what mine was?? Good luck to you!
