Hey, last monday the doctor prescribed me a ten day course of anti-biotics for tonsilitus. I took the pills along with paracetamol and i am now on day 6 of the prescription. However, there are no visible differences in the way my tonsils look, they still remain swollen and are pretty close to each other.

i was just wondering whats wrong?

You have a really bad case and it may take more than one round of medst o kills off the infection. When I finally decided to have mine out it took 2 months to get them well enough to take out!

I had my first case of tonsillitis at 19 and they never ever went back down. They would swell even further every time my sinuses drained or I had a cold. I finally got fed up with feeling like I was smuggling food in my throat for winter and had them removed 9 days ago. It hasn't been easy, but I feel I will enjoy things much better once I completely heal. And yes, they swelling is finally gone from having golf balls in there for over a decade. The pain has been only slightly worse than what they felt like when they were virally infected and swelled up badly.

okay thanks, do you think if it keeps up like this i'll have to have them removed? I'd rather not after all the horror stories i've heard of how sore it is. :(
