Hello Everyone,
I am new to the message boards and am looking for others who have been through IVF in the past without sucess. Here is my story: I'm 36, hubby is also, ttc for 8yrs, IUI once with BFN, #1 IVF with ICSI was BFN, #2 IVF with ICSI was ectopic (is this the way you spell it?) and now begining #3 IVF. I am trying to remain positive... Anyone have any suggestions about how to increase the likelyhood of success this time? What has everyone heard about pineapples....is it true they help with implimentation? Looking forward to chating here.

Hello and welcome.

I am sorry to hear you have had a long and painful journey with IF. Hopefully this next IVF will be third time lucky!!!
I haven't heard the pineapple theory before but anything is worth a shot.

Good luck, I pray that this is your time.

hi! Oh yes, I heard about the bromelin in pineapple and ate it before and during my cycle. I also drank red raspberry leaf tea, took TCM, Yogi hormone balancing tea, drank wheat grass (yuck!), took Ovulex, herbs, did yoga 4 fertility, acupuncture, visualization, and just about anything I heard of that might help. (some of these I only did before my cycle). As long as it couldn't hurt and I heard it may help I tried it. I think the acupuncture and TCM did the most to finally help me succeed but the other things may have played a part too. I know it's frustrating to have unsuccessful cycles but hang in there because persistence can pay off. May this be your lucky cycle! Good luck!! :)

Good morning Still Hoping!

I am so sorry for the struggles you are having and the loss of your ectopic pregnancy, it is just so very hard!!! I just completed my first fresh IVF cycle and it ended with a bfp. I started going to accupuncture when we began the lupron injections. I went once a week. The day of the transfer I had a session right before the transfer and immediately following the transfer. I also went once a week during my 2ww. I also stayed on complete bedrest for 4 days. The only time I got up was to eat, go to the bathroom, and go back to my RE for my progesterone bloodtest. Other than that I was bed-bound;) Also, I did not lift anything heavier than my credit card (those were the instructions of my RE!) but I faithfully listened to it. The biggest thing I really tried to do was to stay relaxed and not stress myself or the embryos. I read alot during the 2ww and just tried to be in a "good place".

I have heard of the pineapples but I did not do that because I found out at the very end of my cycle. I think that it can't hurt.

Well, I wish you all the luck in the world with your next cycle and will be praying that you get your bfp in the end!!! Please keep us posted.

Thanks ladies for all the ideas and encouragement. I am just starting everything now and will not have my transfer until late May-early June. I did acupuncture with IVF #2 and will do so again. I will keep you updated. I wish everyone lots of luck and babydust******* :)

Welcome to the Board and good to have such strong women on the Board that gives whole lot of strength to others too
I guess you have got lots of tips to get a BFP, wishing you good luck and hope this is the last time for you.
I have also had two negative fresh IVF cycles, going for FET this month and doing whatever I can to get BFP this time :) Have started Acupuncture, ordered a DVD called Yoga 4 Fertility. Just heard about Pineapple secret so I guess will buy tons of Pineapples and start eating day n night :p - Its a great place to be and feel so blessed to be a part of this Board.

CMarie
Did you start driving and go back to work after 4 days of bedrest ?

Take care

Welcome to the boards! I know you'll find lots of useful information on here and lots of people who understand your struggles. I know infertility is so hard. I just finished my first ivf cycle, transfer was yesterday. I'm hoping it works for me. I wish I had some useful tips for you, but I'm looking for answers as you are!

Good luck,
Carisa

Hi Carisa and Golds,
I wish you both much luck. It is nice to know that I am not alone in this. Thanks for the tips. My doctor told me that only one day of bedrest was necessary with my first two tries at IVF and I went back to work afgter 3 days. I am going to do more bedrest this time. Is 4 days the average? Also, my sister-in-law heard that drinking pineapple juice is just as good as eating them. Good luck!!

My doctor recommended no bedrest, just to take it easy the next few days after the transfer. I layed in bed the first day, the second day I mostly was in bed too. If my ivf does not work, I will be like you and try lots and lots of bedrest. I know cmarie did four days of it and she has a bfp with high numbers. I'm hoping I will be just as lucky, my beta is scheduled for Tues the 10th.

Oh, and I also have been trying to lift close to nothing. I was even scared of my hairdryer. :)
