I have been suffering from "brain fog" for over a year. I feel like I am in dream all of the time. sometimes i have blurred vision as well. At first they thought it was anxiety but now a new doctor (ent) thinks it may be allergies. He would like for me to stop all dairy products for a week. the earliest appt for an allergist is month and 1/2.
Couple of questions:
Can an allergy cause "brain fog".
How long before dailry is out of my system.
Any help with this I would truly appreciate!

Question #1: Yes, absolutely.
Question #2: I don't know. I don't eat dairy anyway (lactose intolerant), but someone else here will have an idea.
Good luck!

2006, this is in response to your blurred vision. I received special allergy shots for food, chemicals and inhalants (Low Dose Allergen shots - LDA). I was tested before I received these shots and I had quite a few allergies in all categories. Well, I started wearing reading glasses a year of so before this and after these shots I don't wear the glasses anymore! My eyes used to weep all of the time too and the ophthalmologist told me that my eyes were dry and this is why they did this. After the shots my eyes quit weeping. We have a friend who is an immunologist and I was talking to her about this and she theorized that the stopping of the allergic reaction stopped the eyes from being dry and this then changed the shape of my lens so that I didn't need the glasses anymore. I was truly amazed by this.
