View Full Version : Do Supplements hurt you in the long run?

I take the Super Lysine + on a regular basis and add red marine algae when I start to have an OB. When starting an OB I also put liquid vit A/E on the area.
All of these seem to help.

Now from what I understand the longer you have type 1 or 2, the frequency of OB's will decline over time. I think it has something to do with your immune system getting to a point of surpressing it, but not sure.

Would taking supplements actually hurt your immune system for this purpose since it would seem its not doing anything on its own, but using the fuel from supplements we take?

On the other hand would taking supplements somehow teach our immune systems into being stronger therefore helping you immune system to learn faster about surpressing it on its own?

I'm just looking at the point when your immune system can take over for itself without taking supplements on a regular basis, if its true about lower OBs over time.

This has crossed my mind a few times, but I have no clue.

Any ideas??

hey
most of the supplements taken for prevention from what i heard are not dangerous.
l-lysine is basically an amino acid and cant hurt you neither can RMA or vitamin c
but they say vit C or too much of it can cause kidney stones but thats the only problem i see.
comming from someone with no outbreaks thats what i do, i just take my supplements everyday and make my body keep the virus sleeping
alot of it is mental energy
i decided to face this mindbender disease as something i control and not the other way around.
eat healthy and stay away from sunburns, tanning beds and chocolate and peanut butter wheich they say are culprits that make the virus rear its ugly head
thats what i heard
good luck
