Hi everybody

I myself don't suffer from PCOS but I have been told that a drug called Metformin, especially when taken in conjunction with clomid can work wonders at regulating cycles and aiding in ovulation.

Most of you have probably already heard of it but I don't recall reading about it on these boards before so thought I would let you know. One of my very good friends is due with baby number two today. She suffers from PCOS and has taken this cocktail both times with success. If you do a ****** search there is a lot of information there too.

Hey Ruby,
Is this drug by px or just something you can buy off the shelf and combine with clomid? I will love to know more.
Thanks

Hi Girls

Mapia, I think the drug is definitely only for people who suffer from PCOS. It wouldn't be any good for me but I thought it might be worth letting the other girls know about it so they can run it past their dr's. I'm glad you're keeping busy. You have had a rough time lately. At least you're in the 2ww now so there is hope............
I am OK. Life just goes on as usual. You might have read that AF came last Wednesday so I am embarking on yet another cycle of trying naturally. With Easter just around the corner I am busy too especially with all the Easter services.

Lovelygal, this is definitely a px drug. It might be worth asking your dr about it if you suffer from PCOS as I believe the success rate is quite good. Like I say my friend has had it prescribed twice and it worked both times. She took the Metformin before the Clomid and says that she noticed a difference in her cycle straight away. I really think anyone suffering from PCOS should find out more about it. Good luck Lovely, I hope this helps!

Hi...new here!
I have actually taken metformin and the clomid for 7 cycles without any results. I have been on the metformin for almost 3 years now. It did regulate my cycles, but still haven't achieved the results with it that I was hoping.
