Hi, it's been a while since I posted here, but had a question. I'm not sure where to post a question like this, so I figured here was as good as any... I would call my surgeon for this, but I don't want to bother him since he is very busy.

I had a surgery about 4 years ago, and I wanted to get a tattoo on the scar that is on my belly. But I want to have another kid with my soon to be husband within the next few years. I don't want to wait to get the tattoo, if I do I probably never will get it, urges die with time. The thing about it is, bellies stretch, and so do tattoos, rendering them. I didn't get very big when I was pregnant with my son, I only gained 28 pounds, but I'm 6 foot tall, there was plenty of room for him, so there wasn't a weight issue. So if I do have another kid, I most likely won't gain too much weight.

Any ways, on to my question: do scars stretch? I have other scars, but not on a part of me that will grow considerably. For example, the thigh, right under the knee cap, etc. The other thing about it is that if scars do stretch, I won't want to become pregnant as I do not want a 2 inch wide scar on my belly, it's already a half inch at the widest... I tried looking all over web sites and everything, but can't find anything other than stretch mark removal... Does anyone here know anything about this? Thank you!

Personally i would wait til you were done having children. BUT, im not sure where you are talking on your stomach..............where is this scar? Even if you dont get that big during pregnacy, there is that risk that the tatoo will look distorted and stretched out. I want to cover a scar on my tummy with a tattoo as well............but i am afraid, because i have stretch marks in that area................and i dont think the tattoo would hold up. It wouldnt hurt to go in and talk to a tattoo artist though.
