Well, where do I begin? My son was diagnosed with aspergers at age 3, he's 13 today! He's had alot of stress lately, in fact, he's just recently had stomach migraines due to his anxiety. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen to their child.

Hi,
I'm 25, and I'd never hear od Aspergers until less than a year ago, and when I read about it, I'm convinced that I have it. I had stress at that age too, due to being made fun of at school all the time. I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but I know that the Autism board here has had some discussions about Asperger's before. You could probably find some answers there.
Good luck!

I suggest you go to the OCD board where this will be seen by the right people. There is a really great girl named gatsbyluvr who knows EVERYTHING you would ever want to know about aspergers but were afraid to ask!

Are you working with a therapist? A good psychologist could help you and your son a great deal. He needs the learn the skills necessary to cope with his differences. Learning will undoubtedly be a challenge, though most Aspbergers and Autistic people are very intelligent, the social stress of a school environment is difficult. Large classrooms, with many students is intimidating to most children on the autistic spectrum. There is also medication that he can take to help him while he learns the coping skills to succeed in life. Your peditrician or a therapist is your first line of defense. Seek professional help, you're son's success, self worth, and future happiness depend on it. You need a professional to guide you through the teenage years.
