I'm going on my hellish 9 month battle with my inner ear disorders. I don't have spinning spells and no nausea or vomiting. What I do have is a 24/7 feeling of movement. The floor sinks in and shots up when walking, laying down, feels like i'm being pulled by a freight train in a certain direction. Swaying boat type kinda drunk feeling.

Just curious if anyone else out there has non spinning vertigo, and i'm not talking about imbalance, actual movement feeling whether ur moving or objects are moving is what I mean. And what was your dx? and/or outcome.

Cheers!

I have severe neck problem and for past 10 years have had ship at sea sensation most of the time. It varies enormously but everything you describe I have had at some time. The bed thing is awful as you feel as if you are dropping out of bed one way or the other tends to be up or down even though you are wide awake and it really gets your heart beating!

When I walk alot of the time if feels like I am on soft spongy ground .
I also get sudden severe attacks of rocking vertigo which is terrible and can last from a few seconds to half an hour. I never feel sick with it either.

I have been through all ent tests and MRI scan and nothing found.
I also have weird sensations and noises in both my ears from ringing to flapping sounds for feeling of pressure to stabbing pains.

I have prolapsed disc in neck pressing on spinal cord and severe arthritis and all the above has been attributed to this.

Do you have an aching neck?????

Do you have an aching neck?????

Thanks for the info, you know what now that I think about it, I have had a kind of a stiff and tight neck for a while. I'm a 21 year old male in pretty good physical shape so I don't know if it's cervical or not. My ent and neurologist think it's inner ear but who knows considering so many different things can make u feel this way.

I posted in another message, but I too never had the spinning vertigo... I had a general feeling of dizziness, sometimes a falling backwards feeling and sometimes a pulling to one side feeling... among other things

Headaches
Neck Stiffness
Fatigue
Anxiety
pressure on one side of head
slight left ear hearing loss.. (this is actually very slight and one low range on the hearing test)

Maybe some others. Neck problems can cause some of these symptoms, but if you had a virus which you can track back, that is most likely the cause. Alot of times my neck would become extremely painful and stiff... Maybe it was me tensing up because I didnt want to feel dizzy.. Not sure, but when I got better periods (less dizzy), the neck stiffness magically lifted, so it was all interconnected
