Its been one year since I had a right middle lobectomy because of a 7.7 cm carcinoid tumor. I've been getting checkups/scans every 3 months along with blood tests more often and had my one year checkup today and the oncologist and surgeon both said no sign of the cancer returning so far! My Chromogranin A levels have actually dropped since the last test 3 months ago. Chromogranin A is a marker for carcinoid and some other cancers. I still have to keep up the regular check ups as this type of cancer can stay microscopic up to 10 years so I have to wait that long before they can really say it probably won't come back.

There is no difference in the ten year survival rates of people with lung or breast or pancreatiic or other cancers who got chemotherapy and those who did'nt get chemotherapy. Cancer treatments are big business..
