Are there any side effects when suddenly starting folic acid pills, 400 mg?

Did you mean to say 400 mcg? That's the recommended daily does. 400mg would be VASTLY more.

If so, 400 mcg should cause no ill effects.

Hi, thank you, yes I meant mcg....I noticed, though, that a centium daily vit. has the same dosage - can we take both? Or just the centrium will do?

that would depend on your needs..FA is a water-soluble vitamin, so your body will flush out the excess if you consume way too much

it;'s rarely toxic, it only may hide a B-12 deficiency it you have that..Pre-natal, pre-menopausal, and overstressed women never have enough folic acid or B complex in their diets, especially if you use birth control pills they depliate/surpress folic acid and B-s in our bodies.

YOu can get folic acid naturally by eating Garbanzano beans also called Cheak peas..the main ingrtidient in humus. You have to cionsume them as soon as you blend/cook them for getting the most out of them.
