I have always felt that using Albuterol was a sign of poor asthma control. And have often denied myself the use of it when needed. However it is the thing that works best. Doubling up or increasing the preventative is not the answer (as I learned from my extensive research). And in reading the various posts I see that some sufferers use it as their major med. I think they're as well off as the others who ply themselves with the corticosteroids like QVAR or Flovent or worse, Advair (which is contantly on the verge of being taken off the market). There are so many schools of thought -- it looks like definitive answers are a long way off.
