Hello all, I've got a very strange problem that has left me totally bewildered. On April 1st (Sunday and Monday were my days off) I came down what looked like a bad case of the Hives. My face was just so red, both my arms as well as parts on my back were red with strange lumps everywhere on them. Strange thing is it didn't itch at all. I felt fine. I waited it out until the next day, on monday morning I get up and see the redness of my face completely vanished and the lumps on my arms as well as my back had also disappeared. I thought everything was gonna be fine. Little did I know it was the beginning of my troubles. Today I get up in the morning, 100% all fine and dandy. All the strange skin problems i had on sunday had almost all vanished. I decide that it was obviously fine to go to work. So I did, this is where my troubles began.

I head to work and see my friend for the first time in two days. It wasn't even 10 mins into work (this is where it gets really hard to explain) I felt an INTENSE spontaneous need to itch every single part of my body (except for my head). It felt like I had a thousand people poking me with needles. I thought I had stepped into the twilight zone or something. I have never experience this before in my life. I had to sit down right away thinking that I was gonna collapse. At one point I was actually in pain, it really felt like a thousand pins were going into me. This was an off and on thing throughout the day, extremely annoying and very embarrassing. At times I could not stop moving. I had my manager asking me "what's wrong with you". I had to clock-out 5 hours before my shift ended because of my symptoms. As I am typing this I still feel it (though no where near as serious as I had experienced at work) Can anyone clarify on what I had experienced? Or did anyone experience the same thing? I'm afraid that there's something seriously wrong with me like skin cancer or some other similar serious disease. Thanks in advance for any help.

It sounds like you are allergic to something at your job. Go see a doctor and see if they can find anything.

it can't be the job, because right now as i am typing this at home its happening to me. Its extremely random, it happens suddenly out of nowhere. I literally jerk then suddenly stops right away. I'm beginning to think this doesn't have anything to do with hives. My hives as of today have just about all disappeared, I barely see them on my arms now. I want to get this checked out so bad but I have no insurance due to financial issues and low pay I get at my job. I been trying to get free insurance called careplus for low income families but even that is hard to get. I'm always just barely missing what they consider low income.

Do you have a CVS Pharmacy in your area? I can't be sure of this but, I think most or all CVS's have an on-site doctor now. Perhaps go see him or her. I don't know the cost or if they require insurance.

Also, maybe call 411 and ask for a free clinic in your area. The wait may be long but, it is better than trying to self-diagnose or waiting for it to go away on its own.

My opinion is that your health is more important than the bills that will come later. I am pretty sure that you can be treated anywhere without health insurance. It just may cost more to do so. I could be wrong. But, it is worth a shot.

Seems like an allergy to me. I hope it's just that. Could be something you ate, touched, in the air, whatever. Allergies can just suddenly pop up. If it's cancer it's unlike any I've heard of. Skin cancer causes tumors but they don't just appear overnight, I mean in a big way, and I've never heard of it causing all over itching and pain. Look for a free clinic and if you can't afford anything call some doctors up and ask if they'll come see you for a diagnosis or something. It would make me panic too but try to remember that a problem with self diagnosis is that people sometimes think it's much worse than it really is.

I have this thousand pin feeling ALL the time.

It is nothing.

When do I get it? When I am nervous. And also, when I exercise to quickly without warming up.

It feels as if little pins are poking you... I take deep breathes to relieve it. I also use a body brush to gently scratch. There aren't much hives or anything. Just a strange sensation.

I personally think its the blood vessels of the skin dilating (or contracting).

Do you also sweat a little afterwards?

Sounds like you had a allergic reaction to something Thats why you had hives.Any new foods, soaps, detergents, aftershave, deodorant ect? The intense itching is probabbly due to one of these.I would try some Benadrly. If you don't feel better in another day I would see your doc.

hello tommy,
i'm 50yrs young female and recently got these pin needles all over, but also burning under skin excpecially when got bad report of something, then it got to where it was happening for no reason, i went on another site (don't remember where) but they had about 50 people of all ages with the same problem and every test you can imagine and no-one could give an answer..
this also happen to me about 10 years ago when i go a tanning bed, and i sold it because it always pinched me like needles, (someone told me it was a lack of vitaimins)
my doctor says i have high blood pressure (but said it was not that)
so she sent me to a female specialist which said it was not that,
and wanted me to go to a nerologist (which i didn't)
but i did get on vitamin e and a multi vitamin and my doctor put me on a high blood pressure med and 1 week later it was gone, high blood pressure meds made me so sleepy and tired and cold that i got off of it after 4 weeks (but still taking vitamins) 1 week off hb meds i feel the pinching and flush face coming back, so i'm going to have to get back on but a lower dose
good luck, hope this helps some:angel:
