I am still around just haven't posted lately. Seems like my recover got so far and is now staying put. I am doing better but am on the same pain meds as before the surgery. Some of my family members say that I am back to my old self.
I was sleeping all night until this week and now am up again stiff and in pain. I just get up and walk around a little I am trying not to take as many pills
I get very tired very easy and have to take naps or go to bed real early.
Hope everyone is doing great. Talk with you soon

Clover,
Remember that it takes time. I sometimes think that you reach plateaus and your body stops to catch it's breath before it moves on to the next level. Perhaps you are just catching up with yourself...
Be kind to your body. Rest when you need to, pace yourself. It takes time to get back to normal. I still don't have my full stamina...and I'm two years out...so don't beat yourself up!
hang in there girl!

Clove,
I think that it has a lot to do with the weather. IT seems that you told someone that you live in Wyoming; I did for over 12 years, born and raied in the cheyenne area.
I can notice when a cold front comes and goes and so on. WE all on this board problay feel the difference in the weather and how our body feels as a result of the barometric changes and so on...
I listen to my body and do what it tells me for the most part, I might push it a little at times. But I also reward it at times as well. Give it a holiday, we are all not 18 years old any more are we?
Take care, and do as your body feels,

Hey there. Glad you checked in. Dont have ANY EXPECTATIONS of where you think you should be at this point in recovery. It goes up and down for most of us and for many.. it seems to feel a tad worse after the 1st few weeks for awhile as we really start to feel the "healing" going on. BUT it will subside as the weeks go by and lessen more and more and you will begin to feel more & more strength go by.
Indeed let pain be your guide, but remember not to push yourself to the point that you know you are going to have pain either. Not worth it. Takes so long to feel better when we do stuff like this. Speaking from the voice of experience on this.. and being Type A.. it ain't easy gal! Takes alot of patience.
Hang in there... it gets better. Tam:wave:

Hi clover glad to hear from you, but sorry you are having troubles. I have not had back surgery so I have the slightest clue of what you are dealing with. I am no stranger to pain though. But, I just want you to know that i am praying for you and also to let you know that it does take times for some things to get better. Take care

Clove - how many weeks out are you now? Have you hit week 5? If so, remember week 5 up to 8 have been the hardest for me. I feel like I am back peddling and can't quite get ahead of the current.
I am thinking of you and pray that you will be feeling better soon.

I did remember that Pepper you weren't the only one that mentioned that also. I am week 6. Week 5 I really felt great and that feeling is still there I just feel it has now stayed put. I am really taking it easy. I am working from home today because I just need the rest. Funny my Boss is ok with this. She know again likes me. Funny how boss's are.
I am taking the narco 7.5 every 4 hours thru the day. Which is almost the same as before the surgery. I take a valium or 1/2 5 mg of one when I feel the jack hammer guys in the buttock area working.
I am real stiff in the morning and walking does help alot. At least my family is getting back to normal my bedroom doesn't have the feel of a sick room any more that is a good thing.
They are expecting snow in the mountains today and I can feel it. I also have arthritis. We may have some snow this week end fun fun
Hubby loves it and wishes enough for the snow blower so he can play.
Miss ya guys and will post soon

I think you are doing the right thing by listening to your body. If you are tired, staying home is the smart thing to do. This surgery takes alot out of you and is difficult to spring back from.
I know today I am not moving from my recliner unless it is an emergency. I just need to chill.
Take care sweetie.
