I just checked my bp before I was going to go to sleep and it was 90/45. My diastolic has never been that low. The symptoms I am having are pins and needles in my feet and EXTREMELY shallow breathing with breaths very far apart. My heartrate is also 61 when normally for me a resting rate is between 85 and 100. I'm scared. Do I need to call my doctor?

Wholegrain, I have noticed your postings about low blood pressure quite often. It seems this is an ongoing problem for you which is getting worse. So, yes you should see a doctor, but my advice would be for you to find a new doctor who will give your situation a look with new eyes. Apparently your current doctor either doesn't know or just can't figure out what is wrong so it's time to move to another doctor.

Call some friends of yours or another trusted doctor, get a specialist for low BP and get checked out.

Good luck.

I was wondering if I needed to do anything about it right then, like go to the ER. I already have an appointment with a specialist.

I also have low BP it drops as low as 60/30 in the evenings and I can hardly stand up. It gives me a really strange withdrawn feeling and I feel like I cannot breath even though I can.

In the day it goes up to about 80/50 the docs suspect I have secondary adrenal insufficency but nothing as of yet has stabilised it. I am being put on steroids which I am hoping will help.

Oh my goodness Naomi, 60/30 is dangerously low! Good to know you also have the strange breathing thing. As of yet I haven't met anyone else who experiences it, and my doctor said it is just anxiety. Although it definitely makes me anxious, there is a marked difference between my regular breathing and my low bp breathing. Well I hope you get better. Let me know how the steroids work out.
