View Full Version : HSV-1 Question about women

I've lived with HSV-1 all my life. I'm a 22 year old student, and am in my first serious relationship. We are sexually active. Because we have been having sex I went and got myself checked out for a number of std's as well as a physical examination for genital herpes/warts. My girlfriend that I am currently with has never gotten oral herpes before she met me. She has had a few outbreaks since we have been going out (June 2006), so I am guessing she should have antibodies to prevent getting it in her genital region. I am on a suppressive therapy of valtex 500 each day.

Today (4/3) she went to the gyno for a checkup for a small cut that she has had from the last time we had sex which was about a month ago. She is very small, and I am large, so that is what the doctor said caused the small cut. But next to that cut there was a small canker type sore, that the doctor said they were pretty sure it wasnt herpes and was possibly a bacterial infection from the cut, but got it checked anyway.

I have not had oral sex with her since the middle of February, and like I said have been doing suppressive therapy. Do you think that this might possibly hsv-1, or do you feel that she would have a hard type getting it in her genital area since she has already built up antibodies due to me giving it to her in her mouth? We will not know what it is until next tuesday or Wednesday, but I would really appreciate any calming words or advice.
