So i'm on day 8 of my tonsillectomy and I'm having slight bleeding in the back of my throat. I'm guessing this is normal but just thought I would post to see some feedback.

In the back of my throat, I have the white things, which I assume are scabs. Well, today and last night, I've felt like a i have something stuck in my throat, and when I take a good swallow, the bleeding starts. When the bleeding starts it looks like the white stuff is gone where it's bleeding, but then after a few hours of no bleeding, all the white stuff is back.

Like i said, the sheet the doctor gave me said day 6 to 8 bleeding is normal, as long as its not pouring out of your mouth.

Would someone calms my fears and let me know this is all normal, or whats going on. My appt. to see the doctor isnt until next week.

Yes, what you discribe is the normal progression of shedding your scabs. You will shed bits of all of your scabs many times with each newly developed scab being thinner that the rest.

If the bleeding is bad you will notice it pooling in your mouth.. or when it is really bad spurting to the beat of your heart.

When a scab comes off a bit prematurely on your skin you note bleeding as well. Keep ice chips and ice water handy at this time. When a scab comes off, drink ice water and suck on ice chips until the bleeding stops. This shouldn't take more than 15-30 minutes.

Best of luck to you.
