My discogram in my case wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and had heard from others and researched that it would be. I honestly can't remember much at all that happened. They drugged me well obviously! But I hope if anyone else is nervous about one that I give hope since i'm so young (16) and made it through ok.
I think it's funny though because I must have told them when it hurt but I can't even remember getting dressed afterward or the trip to the hospital for the CT scan.
Now I'm just waiting for my surgeons office to call back to see him again and i'm so excited. Really I just want to know what we can do and finally figure a solution to my torn annular. We've been trying for the past 8 months to find something to stop the pain and i'm just ready to find the final cure. Well I hope at least!
Thanks to those who replied to my last thread :)

Hi Veronica and welcome to the board, this is my first time reading your post. If you do not mind my asking what was the reason for your discogram? You are so yound to be daeling with this. However I am glad to know you did not have a bad experience with the procedure. You take care and welcome,

Hi Rachel.
Thanks for the reply to my post.
I have a torn annular in a disc in my lower spine. We think it was cause from me getting thrown of a horse into a ditch in the middle of July. I've gone through physical therapy, muscle relaxers that made me sick all night, an epidural that ended up with a spinal fluid leak that led to a blood patch, an MRI, a couple x-rays, and now the discogram. Basically i've had a lot of bad luck. We have the right disc now found from the discogram but my doctors are trying to take things slow since i'm so young and are afraid to do make any serious decisions such as surgery so fast. So on Tues. i'm scheduled for a fassit joint block, but we're not sure if we're going to do that yet. My parents aren't very comfortable with all the decisions my surgeon makes and they think the fassit joint block is unesscessary after the discogram. I don't know, i'm just ready to get it all over with so I can go to school again and live normal again.
Thanks again for the reply,
Veronica

Veronica, thrown from a Horse dang!!! Have they checked and made sure you don't have any instability or spondyolethesis? Eww!!! My horse back riding days are over
Have you gotten a second or third opinion?

Yvette!
I don't think they have checked for instability or spondyolethesis because I have no clue what they are ha, But maybe they have?
Yeah my horse riding days are done for too for sure!
Not really, I've been to a lot of doctors though and they agree on what's going on but I havent gone to more then one neurosurgeon. So in a way I have more then one opions but not from a surgeon.

Well sometimes, when there is an event like what happened to you, there can be a fracture or crack in the pars effect, which will let your vertebrae slip. During the flexion and extension xrays they generally look to see if when you are bending if the vertebrae is slipping out of place. But I'm not a doctor I might not be getting that right ok. I had spondyolethesis but it wasn't causes from a traumatic event mine was degenerative, and there is another type when people are born with it. Don't get freaked out, they'd tell you if they found that. :)

Veronica--Hi, my name is Gail and Yvette told me to read your thread as it would help me, and guess what--it does help--just to know that someone else has been through this and made it w/o trauma. I'm the biggest chicken when it comes to needles that you'll ever meet. Sadly enough, I passed this on to my son--not my daughter, my son. Poor guy, he still passes out when he sees needles. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for your words of wisdom and you hang in there--tou're much too young to have all these problems now--you're just a baby. Best of luck to you.
Gail
