I have just started on hyzaar 2 weeks ago and I am feeling really awful. I saw the doctor for a BP recheck after starting and it was still up so he has increased it to 100/12.5. These are the changes I have noticed in the 2 weeks...My back hurts on both sides, my legs have little red dots on them half way up and a little swelling, my legs jump when I try to go to sleep, I feel exhausted when up walking around, and my arthritis is worse. I figure this all has to do with the diuretic part of the hyzaar. I am taking Kdur 20 meq once a day. These are the only meds I take and I don't want to take them but I need my blood pressure to be under control. I am afraid I will feel even worse with the increased dose. I have another Dr appt in 1 week and will let him know these things. Has anyone else had these side effects? I do not want to have kidney problems or worse arthritis because of this drug. Does anyone have suggestions or have the same problem and what did you do? Oh, and I do not have any other medical problems.
